Happy New Year!

I know this is early but I intend to be busy with the year's final holiday so I wanted to share this now:

Happy New Year Everybody!

A contest and a fan

There are a number of individuals whom I have met in various ways who keep my dreams going. They are the ones who have been able to make art a way of life and one of those indiviuals is Jake Parker.

As a fan, I see the opportunity of receiving some of his material as quite an opportunity and that is why I am writing this blog. I would like to share in some more of the adventures of Missle Mouse and partake of another artist's imagination.

The Nativity II

I had so much fun making the nativity image two days ago (refer to former blog) that I made another one and sent it via E-mail to friends and family.

I love this time of year!

Gifts by Micah

These are some of the gifts I made for family this year:

Portrait of my Father in law's Father in Watercolor pencil, colored pencil, and gauche

.

Pen and Ink piece I made for my Mother in law who is into emergency preparedness and has a collection of "Noah" pictures, sculptures, and other collectibles.

The fun part was trying to get these pieces done while living in the same house as my in laws. But I did get the job done and it has been a wonderful Christmas.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!

A Sketch

Found this in my files. A gift to my brother a while ago. To me, it's those gifts that come from the heart that have the most meaning.

Merry Christmas Everybody! May we always remember who started it all.

"Job Security"

This is an honest reflection of the times and some of my personal feelings as I have been trying to support my family and not go nuts!

Monday, October 25, 2010

This is a gift I just finished for my daughter, China. She recently turned eight years old and will be baptized on the sixth of November into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is entering a whole new world as she makes a sacred covenant with Jesus Christ to serve him and to love her fellow men as he did. I am very proud of her.

A tender thought

I found this sketch in one of my sketchbooks. I like the feeling of tenderness and the sense of personableness Jesus demonstrates. I feel that this was how he truly was. . . willing to talk to anyone who would come to him . . . giving each person his attention and love. . . letting them know that they were loved because in his eyes they were all worthwhile.

An answer to my own rhetorical question

I couldn't leave my last post unanswered. As soon as I posted it, I knew that there was more to the question itself. It's the plain and simple answer: and it always will be.

I was so anxious to make this that I must admit I rushed through the sketch so it's not my best but I think the message comes through. ("If it don't communicate, it ain't art")

Ever feel trapped by bad habits that are hard to break?
It could be like getting trapped in old skin that hardens and doesn't allow
us to change and move out of our circumstances

A little bit of art therapy

Which Winnie-the-Pooh character best fits your personality? Is it Eyore? Is it Tigger? Is it Christopher Robin? . . . .

Well after some consideration I figured out my Winnie-the-Pooh personality type. See if you can figure it out.

Anybody who really knows me will get this instantly.

But I didn't stop there. I decided I needed to find a resolution to what I feel I inadequate in. The following is my solution:

What do you think?

Can you say Catch up?

Moving has been a daunting experience. It has been a month in Houston and I feel we have just barely settled. But I have been taking some minutes to let my PARKER pens get some exercise.

Poor Job . . . with friends like these who needs enemies?

I've always had something about humans with wings. Designwise it just looks awesome!

This guy is the dark side of "winged guys" like a wizard or dark fairy.

Another one of those instances where I just followed where my pen wanted to go. I guess he felt like something Bogart. . . .
