Assignment

I have been in my Clinical Teaching Program only three days and already I have gotten a chance to use my "skills" Three of my classes are reading "The Outsiders" by S.E. Hinton. We have an assignment comming up that focuses on each character's personality traits but the worksheet itself was only half done. Clipart was used for pictures of each character and they were poor! So I offered to redo the worksheet to make it a little classier.

My First Day of School!

Today was my first forray into the world of public education. You think I'm nuts? Probably right. I'm not always sure of what I'm doing either. But nonetheless I am now in the thick of it and I've been paired with a really competent and impressive teacher who is my "mentor" for six weeks. I am interested to see how well I remember my grammar though I think that it will come back to me as soon as I get into it. Yes, I am teaching English, not Art. The Wife and I thought it would be a more stable route to go. English teachers won't get axed as soon as Art teachers would (I'm sorry to say).

"The Educator"

I've spent the past three days going to preparation seminars for Clinical Teachers. I'm training to be an English/Art teacher for Public Schools grades 8- 12. Yes, I know I'm nuts but that is where the Lord has led me and I am enthusiastic about this opportunity. I like to teach and I think that it is an additional talent that I possess. It literally runs in the Blood (Both my parents, my brother, my Aunt, my Cousin and a few uncles all are natural teachers and some work in the public school system back home in Idaho. As I sat in the semi-darkness and took copious notes, I had an idea and that idea became a sketch. Now mind you, I did this in a partially darkened room. It's not the best, but the idea is something I would like to push further.

One Last Holiday Indulgence

I have been working on this through Christmas and just finished it yesterday. I wanted to do a completely "fantasy" Santa Claus who works completely in the world of imagination and wonder. His aids are the fairyfolk, Black Pete (the guy with the black bag and scary mask, Elves, and Cupid(just for fun)
